Printable Trail Brochure |
Take
a self-guided tour at Starker Forests. It is a 1/4-mile walk along a graveled
path. You'll see and learn about the practice of good forestry in Oregon.
You will also discover a variety of plants and trees that are found in the
Pacific Northwest.
As you follow the trail, you will come across two sets of signposts, one numbered and one lettered, that will provide you with helpful information about the area that you are observing. The numbered signposts are designed for our adult visitors and the lettered signposts are designed for the many schoolchildren that visit the trail. You can pick up a brochure at our office that will help you understand the benefits of proper forest management, create an awareness of the vast diversity of the forest, and provide you with interesting facts about the forest industry. If you are interested in a guided tour by one of our foresters for your class or organization, please contact our office. Wednesdays from mid June through September
we offer an afternoon tour. Guided by a forester, you will learn about
Oregon´s Coast Range geography, geology and history. Discover the
diversity a multiple-use forests provides, from recreational opportunities,
to plant and animal habitats, to forest products. Transportation and refreshments
are all provided. Call the Corvallis
Convention and Visitors Bureau at:(541) 757-1544 or 1-800-334-8118 for
details and reservations. www.starkerforests.com |
